MHH40: Street Epistemology 101: A Tool to Successful Conversations with Believers

Join Dan Earles, Bryan Stiles, and Colleen as we demonstrate and teach a communication technique called Street Epistemology. It’s a great framework to build on to have more successful discussions with your believing friends and family. Take notes, check out the show notes for further info, and give me some feedback on what else you’d like to hear about Street Epistemology in a follow-up episode! As always, the video of this conversation can be found in full on the Mormon Happy Hour Patreon page, with early access and other bonus content.

MHH35: Mormon Sexual Trauma Dumpster Fire with Lesley Butterfield

Colleen and Lesley take a chronological approach through the past 2 weeks of sexual abuse hot topics in Mormonism. We vent our way through Sam Young of the Protect LDS Children movement called to a disciplinary court and the results of that court still undetermined. Don’t miss McKenna Denson calling out her alleged rapist, former Missionary Training Center President Joseph Bishop in front of his local congregation.  Next, beloved Progressive Mormon Columnist for the SLTrib, Robert Kirby, responds to Denson’s call-out and social media erupts. MormonLeaks is sued by Brigham Young University, and also this past Tuesday, drops a leaked memo from Kirton McConkie, the LDS Church’s law firm. The memo addresses 6 cases of sexual misconduct and how the church [MIS] handles them. And we wrap up the vent fest with two brave women who are speaking out about the unsafe conditions of LDS missionaries, including their own harrowing experiences of sexual assault. MHH30: Interview w/Ethan Dodge, Sam’s Hunger Strike Update, and BYU’s Amnesty Loophole

Colleen gives an update on Sam Young’s Hunger Strike this past week in downtown SLC. Then she RANTS about the GIANT loophole that basically makes BYU’s recent Amnesty Policy completely worthless, as  was demonstrated at BYU-I when a student was expelled by her Bishop following a sexual assault. And to wrap things up on a lighthearted note, she gives you the gift of Ethan Dodge of MormonLeaks, an interview from Sunstone.  It’s basically lots of shit talking and cheap jokes. Colleen sounds really stupid, and Ethan shows off his nerdy smart knowledge correcting her. They both practice roasting Ryan McKnight, the ego behind MormonLeaks. For bonus points, what’s the phrase in this video that would make a winning drinking game prompt? Check out the FULL VIDEO of the interview on Patreon!

MHH29: Interview with Sam Young, Protect LDS Children, Hunger Strike and Spotlight

Mormon Happy Hour celebrated Mormonism at the 2018 SLC Sunstone Symposium this past weekend. Colleen met many of you, and has collected over 20 interviews to share! But this first one is the most important! Please join with Colleen in supporting Sam Young and his current action to Protect LDS Children.  Sam has begun a Hunger Strike outside the Church Office building in downtown SLC. He will be inviting one specific apostle to sit down with him each night of his Hunger Strike to listen to the concerns of those affected by the harm that can occur during Bishop Worthiness Interviews. Please share his current plans! Please protect LDS Children! No More One-on-One Interviews. No Sexually Explicit Questions, EVER!
